Recipe Books and Cookbooks.

Here is our collection of traditional ethnic recipe books and cookbooks from around the world and also some specialist reference books on one type of recipe, like bread-making or recipes involving chillis. I am not trying to claim that they are traditional Welsh recipes! But who knows? We may have had an influence while sailing the Seven Seas.

The Amish Recipes are a favourite with Americans and so are the chili recipes, although they are popular around the world, especially with men.

The bread recipes have been created from traditional recipes, but have been adapted to the use of 'bread machines', which actually do a very ggod job. One of their best features is the timer. Imagine waking up to fresh bread every morning! You can sell the alarm clock, I can tell you. When that aroma starts to fill the house and the timer goes 'ping', I am already heading for the shower.

The chicken is probably the most widely-eaten 'meat' in the world and chicken recipes are equally popular. There is a different chicken recipe in this book for three times a week for two years! No more worrying what to do with Sunday's left-overs, eh?

Or whart about the 600 chili recipes? Six a week for two years. By the time you get to the end, you can start again because you surely wont remember them, will you?

My favourites, though are the cakes and biscuits. Not enough people cook them any more. I remember when I was a boy, helping my Mum make cakes in the morning, while Sunday lunch was on. We made enough cakes and or bicuits in those three or four hours for the whole week. Long ago, sigh ...
