Low Fat Low Cholesterol Diet
A low fat low cholesterol diet is a taxing diet, but they are there to be found. Atkins, or aspects of the
Atkins diet can be seen as low fat low cholesterol diet, but you would have to leave out nearly all the animal
products.
This leaves you with a low fat low cholesterol diet including fish. If you are looking for a low fat low
cholesterol diet there is also some seafood and a few vegetables that you have to steer clear of.

The reason why a low fat low cholesterol diet is more taxing than a low fat diet is because some fruits and
vegetables have more than the expected amount of cholesterol in them.
People automatically think that fish is low in fat (and so low in cholesterol), but prawns are very high
in cholesterol.
The same is true of coconuts. You would be forgiven for thinking that an Indian or a Thai vegetable curry would
be a great low fat low cholesterol diet recipe, but unfortunately, many of these recipes include coconut flesh,
which is high in cholesterol.
Therefore, the moral of the story is not to take any foodstuff for granted. You might think that a foodstuff is
healthy, but you might be doing yourself harm in the long run.
One thing that a low fat low cholesterol diet should not be is a dash around the supermarket grabbing anything
that is labeled 'low fat' because that is not the whole story and you do not even know what they mean by 'low'.
The laws differ from country to country. but the safest tactic is not to believe anything that anyone tells you,
if they are trying to sell you something.
Just think of all the times that the population has relied on government to regulate what advertisers say and
firms sell us, only to find out years later that 'the experts were mistaken'?
The only way that you will be able to follow a low fat low cholesterol diet successfully is if you get the
details of the foods you can eat and cook them yourself.
Do not expect your friends and family to understand the intricacies of your low fat low cholesterol diet
straight away.
It could take years for them to understand exactly what you may eat and how important that is to you.
This is my experience of having tried to follow only one diet in my life - the Atkins diet. People would say:
"Oh, go on, just one piece of toast. That can't hurt, surely?" But in the Atkins diet that will take three days to
put right. I am not advocating the Atkins diet, it is only an example.
"Oh, go on! One sausage can't hurt your low fat low cholesterol diet, can it?"
What people do not realize is that it is like a smoker having a cigarette after giving up years ago or a
reformed alcoholic having a few whiskeys. It is a step backwards and steps forward are hard enough anyway.
If you are serious about following a low fat low cholesterol diet, you have a real task in front of you, so find
a good diet, one that suits you, and do not let friends and family put you off your low fat low cholesterol
diet.
